Catching up

Ive been caught out! I haven't written anything on my blog for a while. ahhh.

To be honest Ive been resting up a lot and taking time out to allow the essence of my creations to manifest. As a flight attendant Im always rushing about; so when Im not flying I frequently take time out to nurture my body. I get massages, sauna's, more yoga and sleep lots; to allow myself to really slow down and re-connect with my spirit. For me its important to be aware of my predominate thoughts and feelings for those dominate thoughts will be manifested in my life. I enjoy the creative process in life.

Right now Im gearing up for the Global Juice Feast which starts March 1ST.

Day 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Juice Feast Ends Here...

Oh my gosh its day 30 and Im so glad that Im at home to end this cleanse....
This 30 day journey for me was phenominal!! I dont actually feel that I have been this healthy nutritionally since well, EVER! I'm on top of my game!
~At the beginning of the feast I really didn't think I could do longer than 3 days-let alone 30...and so I feel really pleased and quite smug with myself at this point. Ive consumed nothing but fruit and vegetable juices, coconut water and superfoods for the last 30 days!

Ive dropped 10Ilbs- (not as much as I thought I would- but hey) I feel so much better in my clothes. My thoughts are much much clearer, my energy levels are off the charts, and I'm so proud of myself. Really I used to have so many excuses for not getting to work on my health. I had been looking for that extra something to raise my level of health and now Ive found it.
Ive had so much support during the last 30 days; and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for sharing your love with me. I could not have done this without you!
Ive learned so much more about healing the body, parasites,detoxing,rejeuvinating the body and most of all MYSELF! For me this Juice Feast was about re-jeuvenating/re-alkalising and re-fuelling my body...and thats all been taken care of. it really was a feast of abundance not deprivation!

Over the next 2 months I intend to give back to the community more and I will be updating my web-site with my new-found experiences- so watch that space! (www.newlifejourneys.com).

I will continue juicing for at least 2 meals a day and will move away from my vegetarian diet and into a healthy raw vegan diet- but this time leaning towards a raw percentage of 70%. Before the juice feast I had been juicing a fair bit and having a cooked vegan dinner and also experimenting with raw-vegan dishes. Now I know its totally sustainable and this diet provides my body with optimal nutrition and gives my body the fuel to live. Im going for it BIG TIME! as my mum always says One step at a time!
For me listening to my body has been the key, taking time out for myself and ultimately giving my body what its been asking for- for years!

I'm breaking my fast with soaked prunes and water and will slowly be adding solid foods back into my body over the next few days or so.....

Day 29

Day 29 was spent working home from Shanghai to London. My working day started at 05.15 local time shanghai (+8hrsGMT) and finished at 16.00hrsGMT. During my rest period on the flight which was 3hrs50mins I slept like a log...no, I was really away, when I was awoken I realised that I hadn't even moved during my rest......

Breakfast: papaya juice+apple juice
snack:bee pollen and drank master cleanse during the flight (12hrs 55mins) WOOF!
It was a hard flight.

Going to bed with a pot of ginger and honey tea and a nice hot water bottle.

Day 27+ Day 28

Had far too much energy these days so went both mornings to the gym, and braced minus5 degrees winds and snow, to get some real fresh air!!

A lot of the tourist places were closed so I contended in shopping malls and massages! (oh what a drag)!

I mostly feasted on the supermarket supplies, which I am so fortunate as the hotel is surrounded by chinese restaurants and not much else! I know I am truly blessed! The universe has made it possible for me to continue this feast during these past 27 days; so that I could prove to myself that I AM worthy enough to experience optimal health even given my demanding schedule as a Flight Attendant and Holistic Health Counsellor.

I give thanks and am truly grateful to the universe for all that I have.

DAY-26

We arrived this morning in Shanghai....its freezing its minus4....yessss minus4!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the worlds fastest train (maglev shanghai's airport train). it travels at 550mph!!! and takes 7-8mins total!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We almost arrived b4 we left! This was my first great experience of China. Plus it was SNOWING....it was beautiful, apparently this was the first time it had snowed in Shanghai for a decade, so i was most privilaged to be here; but then I thought about the global warming and the obvious state of our beautiful world. :(

After a fout hour kip, I met up with some of the crew and we made post haste to the supermarket for some supplies.....
It was still snowing but the light was so bad, and my camera is a little old unfortunatley the pics make for poor viewing! I will have to invest in a video camera- SOON!
Inside the supermarket whilst my colleagues where looking at the Chinese New Year decorations I made a bee-line for the fresh produce section...he...he...he
Well they did not have an organic section, so i made do with what I had available...and so are you ready??
I bought 4 young thai coconuts
1 Durian
4 Apples
2Pears
1 bag of Kale
1 Packet of Goji berries (they were so Red in color)
Pomegrantes
4 oranges
2 Clementines (a favourite at this time of the year)
4 litres of water
1 head of celery
Royal Jelly
unwaxed lemons

(now you may be thinking, is she not going to leave the hotel, or isn't that a little extreme? but no, and here's why.....)
The guy at the concierge had told us that many places were closed due to the snowstorms and bad weather. And so given my special diet and the outside conditions I was just elated that the supermarket could indeed cater for those health seeking citizens such as myself!!!
Remember I have my personal blender with me, and my master cleanse kit with a few additions; bee pollen, greens+ powder,honey,oxC-gen tabs,spirulina+chlorella.

That evening I relaxed in a hot bath, watched some dvd's incl (Raw for life); happily drank my hotel room made veg/fruit juices and slept like a baby.....mmmmm

Day 25-

Off to work again..........awoke this morning feeling real energetic! Im so pleased with myself these days- I cant believe im still going after 24 days. I love my new look and my new look loves meeeeeeee.
Ive had a strong urge to re-read a couple of books to strengthen my mind and to help encourage me on my journeys to optimum health.
They are: The sunfood diet success system by David Wolfe, and Spiritual Nutriton by Gabriel Cousens MD.
I wanted to share a paragragh with you from Sunfood diet success;

I have been thinking a lot these few days about my personal cravings.
What things am I attached to?... Which things do I need to let go of.....? Interestingly enough the same craving keep coming up for me every few days....(I swear I can smell them too) they are that strong.....
I see and can smell Coffee/Potato Chips/red wine. Now I have not drank coffee nor eaten potato chips for over 3years, but I have eaten chip shop chips last year! Plus I do really enjoy red wine!! ;)

I find that Im mostly craving (the crunching) action nowadays. So Im making a real effort to chew my juices more so that I may eliminate this craving, and to produce more saliva to kick-start the breakdown process in my mouth; as it should be.

Today I drank:
mineral water, msm + lemon and ginger
1 tbls aloe vera juice
my green superfood juice (greens + powder,coconut water,goji berries,1 apple, 1 pear,celery)
pomegranate seeds and juice with orange juice

and during the flight whilst working I drank MASTER CLEANSE.
FLIGHT TIME 10HRS 50MINS.......HUH

Day 24

This morning I had a super lie-in. Truth is...I really did not feel like getting up at all. This was the first day since starting my feast that I have felt sad. I decided to go with it and explore where the feelings were coming from. It did not take long- so I made the phone call and as soon as the phone call was over- I felt a lot better.
Having said that my morning has been very slow, I feel very anxious about going to work tomorrow. Ive only had 2 days off after an epic trip to madras which got unexpectidly extended. this has thrown me off balance as I had appoinments which I had to cancel and am now playing catch-up!
Ive packed a little, but the anxious feelings are from having to do so much in such little time, and Im not sure what the situation for fruits and veg is going to be in Shanghai! Plus you are not permitted to carry any fruits or veg with you in your lugguage. they have sniffer dogs in the airport -to ensure this!....
I will let you know how this panned out when i return....;)

My sister told me today that I'm losing weight -mmm felt good! She also has said that she would not mind doing the juice-feast for 3 days.
I still feel great doing this, my body is detoxing at a steady pace; Im noticing that my thoughts are gaining more clarity as each day passes; and my sense of smell has sharpened ten-fold. I actually thought that the weight would drop of me, but like anything else- you have to work at it- meaning I've had to experiment with different types of exercise. Of course the road less travelled is working out for me...I really cant stand aerobics but its really happening at the mo, its encouraging my body to sweat, which is releasing deep embedded toxins within my body and it helps to clear my skin and open up the pores. Im moving parts of my body I did not know existed! Oh Im also doing the hot/cold shower mix-mmmmmm honestly it feels weird but im really trying to get used to it. lol

My body feels cleansed and much much lighter than ever! I seem to feel forever optimistic and looking fwd to each day. My face has cleared up heaps and I can now see this glowing that others can see in my face! My stomach is flatter and more defined. I'm still working on my thighs though!
My yoga practices are far more intense these days, i seem to fall into the asanes much more easier, although I still to go to a class so that I can learn new postures-its a little difficult with my schedule.... my schedule has changed up somewhat. I'm working a lot more at home now and relaxing more whilst down-route! Each day I'm creating opportunities for my future. I know I'm moving closer to my goals as each day passes.
I would definately recommend this juice feast to anyone, it brings out those self-limiting deep thoughts and patterns held within yourself, especially when combined with a yoga practice. you really see yourself on the large screen; this feast helps to open you up. I believe its a great opportunity to forgive yourself and to create new opportunities for self-growth and understanding.

The night flight home was pretty un-eventful, thank god!

Day 13

Off to work again- gosh it comes around so soon, Im really loving the ease of just being able to whip up a juice in a matter of minutes being at home!

Here a some great tips for travelling whilst on a juice feast!

Purchase a personal blender, its light and you can check it into your hold baggage; I have the PB200 and its fantastic (it blends like a pro)

Purchase a complete tupperware set: Pck your greens powder and you can mix in your other powder forms into the same space- it makes easy mixing and takes up less space.

Other things you may wish to take with you- I do!
cayenne pepper,
spirulina/chlorella/ E3 live
Raw-honey
Yoga mat
Tea-peppermint/ginger/Senna

whilst away I will find my nearest farmers market or organic supermarket and purchase additional fruits and/or vegetables to blend. If you can buy coconuts-buy them
This usually ties me over until I arrive home. Drink as much juice as you can before the trip actually right up until you are about to board the aircraft. Bearing in mind that you cant carry liquids with you through security- but you may purchase juice once airside!
I am out of the country once a week avrging 3-6 days at a time; and so far this is working out for me.

Its day 10 and I feel great!
I weighed myself and I still weigh 60kgs-when I mentioned this to my family, first of all they were shocked that I weighed 60kgs (which was more than flattering)! and second of all I took a stock and realized that i hadn't really been doing much exercise apart from my yoga practice. :P

DAY 9

I slept like a baby...yehhh Im really loving my sleep these days. I awoke this morning feeling a little jaded, which felt really strange- I'm guessing its jet-lag, or the fact that I missed out on my glass of water last night before bed.

Well, I went with it and went out for a brisk walk to breathe in some fresh air, and to take some VIT-D, watered sunshine! (well it is winter here, and only 2 degrees) brhhhhhhhhhhh.
I felt heaps better afterwards and completed my yoga. After yoga I had more juice and went about my day. I've decided to up my intake of mineral water; as my later thoughts on why I felt light-headed was down to not drinking enough mineral water! Hence the heady feelings-this came clear to me during my yoga practice. (more clarity of thought)
I later reflected upon the last week of my juice feast realizing what a great accomplishment this is for me- I feel really proud of myself for not letting my job get in the way of my 30 day challenge!! WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY!

Day 7

Had a lot of last minute shopping to do, so had 2 L of greens juice to tank me up!
I walked a lot today, grabbing juices along the way. There was so much choice available that it kept me curios to see how each one would affect my body and moods. I realized that carrots and beetroot perked me up instantly so I would level the energy out by adding more dark greens to my juices. I also kept on taking my supplements as I know that flying depletes the body of so many minerals and nutrients. Water was of upmost importance gievn the climate in s.paulo.

My no2's were back with avengance! Never been so happy to see that. ;)
Thought: i could definately keep this up, my body feels renewed and energized. I feel clean and light, at times I could feel my bodies vibration; as if my energy was spiralling upwards mmmmm this is a good feeling! I experienced this in my Reiki training.

My crew were very interested in my juice-feasting, which was great for the support; and it gave me the opportunity to talk about what I was doing incl all health benefits; 3 of the crew told me they felt inspired to start a detox after this trip. Of coarse I encouraged them....and gave them the web-site address.....

Day 6

We have to operate a flight to Buenas Aires today, its a 12 hour duty day. We were delayed leaving the hotel so it meant that we would only get 2hrs on the ground! instead of 4, i was happy with that, I just wanted to get back to Brazil.

DAY 5

Awoke at 10.30am felt a little tired. This was a shopping day! the weather was beautiful 28degrees! mmmmmmm

Ohhh yer found 2 organic stores and organic vegan restaurant less than 2 blocks from the hotel. I love this place. My colleague commented on how my face was glowing, and my thoughts were that i was amazed that i was still standing, just fuelling my body with fruit and vegetable juice!!
My energy levels were high, I was in a great mood. I also noticied that my sense of smell had gone up a notch or two and I seemed to notice nature more....the trees/birds/green spaces...mmmmmm and my portuguese was getting better......lol

My bowel movements had slowed down- I think it may have something to do with the flight (it happens to me from time to time) no1 was not a problem at all, I was going every 30mins or so, but failed to go No2.

Day 4

We arrived in S.paulo at 07.15 I had rested for 2.30hrs during the flight- but I had an tremendous amount of energy! I was babbling away nineteen to the dozen to about 15 sleepy people!

Once at the hotel I ran to the supermarket to stock up! Time check 08.05. This was a huge awakening normally I would be buying fruits to EAT! I have to admit to y'all i was in a state of shock.......I stood there staring at all the fruits that I could not bite into.... so I then checked the chilled section and found AGUA DE COCO without any added sugars! great i bought 2 cartons, lemons, and more ginger. I then ran to the juice bar and bought 2 litres of freshly blended juice-delicious. Then went for a 3hr nap followed by a dozy 10 lenghts of a very small pool!!

In the evening I went out with the crew, in order not to remain unsocial, we went to a bar and I happily drank watermelon juice until they decided they were going out for dinner and then i went for a walk around the vicinity as I had not been to S.paulo for 3 yrs! I went to bed around 10.00pm feeling weary but EXTREMELY HEALTHY AND HAPPY.

Day 3

Well this was really interesting as it was my first day back to work after the holidays. Ive been called out to operate a flight from Lhr to sao paulo Brazil! Yeah... I'll just quickly explain to you that I had been planning a trip to brazil in Feb 2008; I was almost not going to go as it seemed impossible to get there for less than £1000.00 (being carnival time). Back in November I kept saying that it would have been excellant if I could go to Brazil before the carnival to go and book the flights and accomodation as it would probably be a lot cheaper!!
Well the universe hooked up all the dots for me! Not only was it one of the best places to send me too, imagine all that fresh fruit in abundance,coconuts, sunshine and the destination of my dream holiday! I am eternally grateful.

I had my horse-bag at the ready!! it contained:

My report time was not until 7.40pm so during the day I tanked up on beetroot juice mixed with apple,celery,and a little kale.

I decided that I would master cleanse during the flight, with a greendrink pre take-off and landing. If it got really hard I would drink oj with lots of water. Well it worked like a dream. (without the pasturized oj). The flight was a night flight 11hrs 50mins!!! mmmmmmm

Day 2

This morning my throat was really dry amd my teeth felt really furry! but i was full of energy again...yeah...I felt really optimistic about life and got to completing my goal list for 2008!
My bowel movements were a lot more frequent today, -my body is in detoxing mode ;)
I got through a lot of admin work today- feeling really good about myself! I also feel really clean internally. Ive had constant thoughts all day about the eternal good that Im creating within my body and it makes me feel great!
I consumed 5 litres today and trust me there was no room for hunger!!.....FEELING AMAZING!

RAW-CHI'S JUICY STORY!!!

Ive been a vegetarian for 13 years, although not always in the true meaning of the word. Over the years I've been battling with weight issues and a few health issues that seemed to go nowhere.
I began my true journey to wellness around 5 yrs ago; which included a lot of research, internet searches, courses, holistic therapies, in-between bouts of exercise! you name it- I went there!

Eventually I learned to let go of all things that would not nourish my soul, my body or my mind. Most of my health issues were linked to dairy and wheat products. To further my understanding of all this, I decided to study holistic health and nutrition, amongst many other holistic therapies. This was a huge awakening for me, I truly learned to listen to my body; since graduating I have become 60%raw vegan.
However I still felt that there was something missing. I have a really crazy full-time job which draws a lot of my energy and that is depleting my health. So it was definately crunch time for me!
When I was first introduced to Juice Feasting I thought that this was something that I would struggle with as I travel and am out of the country every week; but as I gave it more thought I realised that my health is much more important to me and I owed it to myself to give it a try. As I introduced my brain to the idea, my body seemed to resonate quite well with the idea. This was definatley the next big step for me in my journey.

So, here I am on day 2 of my Juice Feast, and all is well. In fact its quite exciting. I feel light, energized and ready to return back to work tomorrow!

Day 1



I awoke this morning feeling charged and ready to embark on my journey to wellness!

This Juice feast is going down so well....mmmm Ive had 4 Litres of juice today, and i didn't start to feel hungry until the evening. I guess i could have had another juice but i felt like I really had sufficient calories and nutrients for one day and so I took my mind to another place and that hunger feeling soon passed. :)

I went to bed with a strong feeling of excitement for the improvement of my health!

What Is Juice Feasting?

Just so that you dont all think I've gone completely mad- as my friend has recently told me. I wanted to share with you what Juice Feasting is and in antoher blog I will share some of my reasons for taking this amazing step to wellness.

Juice FEASTING involves consuming raw fresh vegetables and fruit juices ONLY for UP to 92 days, to rid the body of toxic build up and waste. Its designed to give your body a break from solids, freeing up energy thats usually required to break down food, to work on bigger jobs such as regenerating and rebuilding. You will be getting a break from any processed starches,refined sugars,animal products and stimulants that you would normally ingest.

This is termed as FEASTING rather than fasting because whilst feasting on juice you will get all the calories you would normally get on a daily basis. (1500) for the average woman.
You will drink between 4-5 litres/quarts of fresh juice every day; this is a large amount of NUTRIENT dense liquid passing through your body helping to rehydrate,cleanse,rebuild and alkalise the system.
Most fasts involve drinking only small amounts of liquid/calories. Juice feasting allows you to function quite normally with your own life as you obtain all the calories required on a daily basis and your body is absorbing directly all the nutrients from raw fresh fruits/vegetables and superfoods; whilst detoxing old waste matter from your intestines and colon.

My 30 Days Juice Feast Blog-

Hi and thank-you for taking the time to read my blog.

I initially wanted to start on New Years Day- but that was not panning out very well. So I gave myself a good talking to....YEAH!!!

I have never done a juice feast before or a fast of any kind; so I am taking this step by step. Now I have given this some very careful thought before eventually committing myself. I have taken the time to educate myself with whats involved in a juice feast and have decided to do 30 days instead of my initial thought of 92! If 30 days goes well- and it will! Then I will be ready for March and join the world extend it to reap the full benefits of cleansing/re-hydrating/re-building/re-energising/alkalizing and detoxing my body.

Here I intend to share with you all, my thoughts/feelings/my juices/ as my detox story unfolds.
