After a little procrastination and shifting of energy I managed to get enough leave to allow me to Ooh Im so very excited! I've just arrived in the BIG APPLE and I feel GREAT!...but wait no time for gazing....I'm off to watch my nephews train...they are high performance tennis players in the junior league at the prestigious Centercourt- Athletic Club of Chatham. I'm so very proud of them both!!
Tomorrow I get to attend  The New York Expo...I will have a table with my sister and also be up close and personal with some of the best that America has to offer!...Don't worry I'll be taking as many photos as I'm permitted to take....sneak sneak sneak lol...
We will be selling Hyacinth's Macaroons and Jude Moringa Superfood Powder....what a lucky chica I am!...and we have a table right near Aris Latham.

A wonderful new addition.....

Life just keeps on getting better! Today my dehydrator arrived!! Yayyy....The box was huge! and I opened it with a huge smile on my face....however I was so surprised at the weight...as I pulled it out the box, I realised that actually it looks real heavy but it was surprisingly light ....incidentally I did have to re-arrange the kitchen slightly to make room as its unashamedly huge!!
I'm so thrilled and excited to make my own dehydrated goodies; for myself and for others.
My raw food kitchen is now fully equipped!
I've always said START WHERE YOUR AT!! The most important thing is that you start to add more raw foods into your diet TODAY!..You don't necessarily need all these fancy gadgets. I've been eating raw for almost 5 years and managed just fine for 4 years on my old blender, and my mums old food processor. However I did spend some money on my Breville juicer. I started making juices for my entire family and they loved it, and so they all chipped in. :-)
Apart from that anyone can manage to eat raw without big expensive gadgets. For me this latest purchase is to make more fun in the kitchen, and to add a new dimension to my diet.
Call me sad but I'm off to bed to dream about my new creations...that I've often only daydreamed that I'd make one day when I possessed my own dehydrator...zzzzz

She's Back!

Yay... Rawchi's back!!!!.....I took a year's sabbatical...so to speak to get re-connected with my spirit, listen to my body and to work on my soul's purpose. I know deep huh....I had to dig deep.....and I love that, life always gives me and you the opportunity to BEGIN AGAIN!!

So when you find yourself going astray..give thanks for the awareness and the chance to BEGIN AGAIN!!

One week ago today I completed the first stage of Karen Knowler Raw Food Teacher Training Course...and wow I loved it!  This was just what I needed, being amongst other like minded people who really want to make a difference in others lives.

There I am over to the left, 4th from the back in a Grey shirt. What a wonderful experience.

Strawberry Pie

I went crazy making deserts last weekend and then found that I had run out of cake tins mid food processing....lol

anyway.. here are the ingredients:
Crust:  2 Cups Almonds or Pecans, 1/2 Cup dates, pitted and soaked
Filling: 2 Cups Strawberries, 1cup Coconut oil, 1c soaked cashews, 2 tsps Vanilla extract, 1/2 c raw honey.

To Prepare Crust :

In a Food Processor grind the nuts until fine.

Process until mixture forms a dough like consistency.

Press into cake tin using fingers until base is completely covered.

Place in the freezer until filling is ready.
Blend together filling ingredients until smooth and then spread on top of base. Freeze for a minimum of 3 hours. Good 2-3 days in fridge.

and there you have it!! Strawberry Pie. ;-)

It was delicious!!

Why Raw and Living Foods?

When I'm eating raw and living foods I feel fresh and alive - just like the food. This addition has improved my health, my energy levels and my overall well-being. Eating foods as close to the way God created them for optimum health - it just makes sense. Ive been slowly increasing the amount of raw foods into my diet over the last year. Smoothies and juices and salads were a given for a couple of years now; but Ive truly never felt so good as when I'm eating high raw. So now my diet is about 60 per cent raw.
I don't consider this a diet...when I use this term I use it quite liberally because I don't want it to imply any type of sacrifice that has to be undertaken. Eating raw has nothing to do with giving ANYTHING up, in fact its all about letting the goodness IN!! This is a gift, its a very rewarding, self-empowering healing gift.

TO KNOW WHAT YOU PREFER...instead of humbly saying Amen to what the world tells you you ought to prefer, is to have kept your soul alive. - Robert Louis Stevenson.

So....Whats new?

Yes, its been quite a while...Ive been super busy in the kitchen!...just completed my raw food chef training by Russell James and since then Ive felt truly inspired and motivated. Ive been making all manner of things raw...and having a blast! Russell has a great way of braking things down into bite size pieces (pardon the pun) parceled into easily digestible nuggets of wisdom!! He is truly gifted and makes everything he creates look absolutely divine!
I'm experimenting with making raw cakes at the moment..playing around with different flavours and they are GOOD! just need to get them looking a tad more presentable and they will be flying out of the fridge. All of a sudden friends and family just happen to be in the neighbourhood!!!...mmm I'm loving this new found skill...i'm visiting catering shops and kitchen stores and investing in new utensils...and still praying for my de-hydrator and vitamix...mmmmm...
